RPM Howto at www.rpm.org,
rpmbuild --rebuild {package-name.src.rpm} - then look in /usr/src/redhat/RPMS/{your arch}/ for the binary RPM, that you install like a standard RPM, e.g. "rpm -Uvh {package-name.rpm}".
rm -f /var/lib/rpm/__db*
rpm -q {package} <--have to know package name rpm -qa | grep {partial package name} <--slower but always works!
rpm -qf {file}
rpm -qpl {package} rpm -qpil {package} <--plus package info$Id: rpmnotes.html 13 2004-03-15 22:27:26Z mnadler $
